Falmouth Kitchen and Tasting Tour

Fiddlehead kitchen remodel featured on Falmouth Kitchen Tour

Falmouth, Maine - A kitchen designed by Fiddlehead Interiors was one of eight featured in the Falmouth Kitchen & Tasting Tour May 6 and 7 at select homes in Falmouth, Maine. Located in an executive home at the Woodlands Club, the kitchen features rich natural cherry and burl cabinetry with green soapstone countertops. Yet attendees of the tour found that the the space’s stylish finishes and details are just part of the tory of this high end renovation.

Designer Lisa Clement prepared a display board with Before photos of the space, as well as a layout that showed the original as-built footprint of the home’s first floor, along with an overlay of of the redesigned space. “It’s a completely new take on the traffic flow and space usage. The transformation is unbelievable,” said one attendee.

Clement said the renovation included the removal of interior walls, the capture of space from the existing garage, a re-worked entryway and the combination of the home’s laundry and mud rooms, which all made space for an innovative Command Center, in addition to the new kitchen island and finishes. Clement said the Command Center centralizes everyday household organizational functions of today’s modern home — bulletin board, computer, file cabinets and charging station — in a small, conveniently-located room that can be closed off from the view of typical foot traffic and guests.

Over 700 people paid to take part in the tour which also featured cooking demonstrations and tastings by the area’s most chefs and cookbook authors. Presented by Fine Living Events of Falmouth, the tour was a fundraising event that benefitted The Preble Street Maine Hunger Initiative.
